i can take it from a 3 year old...

More in the vein of "the things people say."

Standing in the store checkout, a cute little girl was seated in the cart behind me. She was playing with a cute squeaky duck given to her by her mother/grandmother pushing the cart. She was thrilled to share this noisy joy and kept squeaking and squeaking the duck. i'm not one to ignore little kids in a store, somehow i always need to say hi or play peek-a-boo from behind a cereal box with the littlest ones. This little cutie would squeak her toy, then look at me and laugh. i had said hi, and now was saying, "How fun that is!"

She looked at me with her dimpled grin and said, "Crazy lady!" i said, "Funny, that's what my grandkids say!" She of course had to laugh and repeat "Crazy lady!"--over and over. Her mom/grandma whispered something in her ear after the 45th repetition, and the little girl changed to, "Lady. Crazy. Lady. Crazy." until reprimanded to stop.

Pretty silly, pretty funny. Something about me just invites brutal honesty. First my hair, now this.

It's always risky to interact with "strange" kids, isn't it? Some kids are so sweet and friendly and others can be down right nasty. Hope your feeling okay this week. My chronic fatigue syndrome has sort of morphed into fibro over the years, although I'm fortunate that my pain isn't bad at all:)

Bookbabie, i'm still in pain though on the first increase of fentanyl. Not sure at all the opiate way is my best option, i mean, this is the 3rd medication they've tried me on! It seems that both CF and FM overlap a lot--some say they're totally different, some say they're exactly the same. *sigh* How is it your pain is not bad?

i think that's the first child in a store to call me "crazy lady."

Chick, thanks for sharing the craziness. ;-)

knock ... knock ...

did you send me an email by any chance? I'm thinking it's from you. But it's just on the verge of being vague enough, that I wanted to check and make sure it was you. I'd hate to respond to a spammer and pour my heart out to a total stranger who will only proceed to send me oodles and oodles of unwanted junk mail!! ;) Let me know ... I'll email ya back if it was you!

"Crazy Lady" is high praise from a peek a boo age kid. Holder called everyone that was fun "crazy" for some reason! Maybe from cartoons? May we always be "crazy ladies" and laugh and smile and play peek a boo with all the small smiling faces that cross our path! How fun that is!

Heheheh.... Crazy Lady !!!

What a hoot. I loved that cartoon. It reminded me so much of me. When Chris and Tersie were just younguns they fought as most siblings will do. My solution to these battles was the "Liking Chair" The two of them spent long periods of time sitting side by side in the "Liking Chair" hugging each other all the while until they liked each other enough not to fight at least for a little while..

Tersie Tersie!! it was me!! i hope to hear from you soon!

Jo, if my sister and i had spent time on a "liking chair" one of us would have ended up black and blue from secretive pinches ;-)

Lea Ann, i like that assessment of "crazy"-- ;-)
